Hi I'm Nick

Engineer-Designer-Maker

I am a Mechanical Engineer with years of design and manufacturing experience. In 2018 I graduated with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and also a B.S in Physics from King's College.

I have worked as an engineer and designer in various industries including Toys, Defense, Aerospace, Construction, Electronics, and Logistics.

In my free time I enjoy designing and replicating props from various media forms (ie. TV, movies, comic books, etc.)

The purpose of this site is to provide an active catalog of the personal projects that I am working on, and the ones that I have finished. If you have questions about design and/or fabrication commissions, please feel free to contact me.

My Story

From an early age I have been fascinated by how things work. I can remember taking apart different toys and appliances and inspecting the internal workings. Then, I would attempt to improve the function or 'coolness' of whatever object I had just disassembled.

My first venture into serious 'making' was when I made the Arc Reactor that Tony Stark made in the cave in Iron Man (2008). I set out to make it with only a box of scraps, similarly to how it was achieved in the movie. After pillaging my parents' and grandparents' garages, I did just that. Add some lights and I had a finished project. From there I was hooked. I realized that anything that I imagined or saw, I could replicate to some degree. That left me with endless possibilities of play and collecting.

Since then I am in a constant state of 'oooh, that's cool, I think I can make that', and so I do. This is much more than a hobby to me. I see how the things I make for myself and others brings happiness to me and them. That is a feeling that I really enjoy and want to continue to create and foster for the rest of my life.
